- Ask for a refund if you decide not to travel.
Refunds for U.S. flights
Under U.S. Department of Transportation rules, if an airline cancels or significantly changes a flight to, from or within the U.S. and you choose not to travel, you are generally entitled to a refund, even on a non-refundable ticket.
Keep records
Save cancellation emails and receipts for meals or hotels. Some airlines cover costs when the cancellation is within their control.
